André Derain
André Derain (1880–1954) was a French painter, sculptor, and illustrator, best known as a co-founder of Fauvism alongside Henri Matisse and Maurice de Vlaminck. Celebrated for his bold color and expressive style, Derain helped redefine modern painting before later embracing a more classical approach that bridged avant-garde innovation with French artistic tradition.
